Member-Provided Information: When you use the Site or Services, we collect information you provide to us about yourself ("Member-Provided Information"), such as (but not limited to) your name, username, email address, and photo, or information you give us about your preferences and interests. We also receive information you provide by posting Member Content to the Site or Services. If you correspond with us by email, we receive and may retain your email address, your message, and any response we may send.
Third-Party Account Information: We provide you the ability to access the Site and Services through Facebook Connect, and to connect your Account to your account on another third-party service such as Instagram or Tumblr using functionality provided by that third party. If you choose to do so, you permit us to access and use certain identifying information and other information related to your account on that other service, such as username and user ID, public profile information, photos, images, posts, "likes," or other Content associated with your account.
Automatically-Collected Information: Each time you access a page on the Site or Services, your browser automatically reports certain information to us, which is automatically recorded by our servers ("Automatically-Collected Information"). This may include information such as your Internet Protocol ("IP") address; your device ID; your browser type; which webpage you requested; information about landing, referring, and/or exit pages, domain names, and/or URLs; and your clicks, page views, and link interactions on the Site or Services.
Location Information: When you sign up for the Site and Services, we may collect and store your geographic location at that time. If you sign up using our website, we collect and store your geographic location as indicated by the IP address that is automatically reported by your browser ("geo-IP"). If you sign up using our mobile app, we will collect and store your mobile device's geographic location only with your permission.
Personally-Identifiable Information: Some of the information we collect from you, such as your name or email address is information that may be considered "personally identifiable" – that is, information that could be used to directly identify you ("Personally-Identifiable Information"). You may decide not to submit Personally-Identifiable Information through the Site or Services, but please be aware that TheHunt may not be able to provide certain services or features of the Site and Services to you.
Please be aware that any Personally-Identifiable Information or other content (such as Member Content) that you voluntarily disclose for posting to the Site or Services will be publicly viewable. We cannot control third parties' use of such information. If you remove information that you posted to the Site or Services, copies may remain viewable in cached and archived pages of the Site or Services, and other Members may have copied or saved that information. To help protect other Members’ privacy, please don’t ask other Members to post their Personally-Identifiable Information in Member Content or provide your Personally-Identifiable Information (such as your phone number) in response to such a request. Please don’t request or post other information such as your username or ID from another service such as Skype or Twitter. Let us know if you come across any requests on the Site or Services asking Members to post such information. We may delete such requests and/or any responses that contain such Information, and we may suspend or terminate the Account of the Member who made the request.
We may also employ clear GIFs (also known as web beacons) on the Site, Services, and/or in HTML-based emails to our users, in order to collect anonymous information about our users' online usage patterns, evaluate and improve the effectiveness of our marketing, enable more accurate reporting, and make The Hunt better for our users.
We use the information we collect from our users to provide, operate, maintain, and improve the features and functionality of the Site and Services. For example, we may use your Member Content and/or certain information about you, such as your geographic location and your activity on the Site and Services, for purposes such as analyzing how the Site and Services are used, diagnosing service or technical problems, maintaining security, and personalizing the Site Content and/or advertisements that are displayed to you.
Email: By providing your email address to us, you agree that we may send you emails at that address, including any notices required by law. You also agree that we may use your email address to send you notifications of activity on the Site or Services and/or other messages, such as newsletters, changes to features of the Site and Services, special offers, or other promotional information. You may manage your email preferences either through the links provided in emails we send you or through your account settings, except that you may not opt out from receiving (1) notices that we are required to send you by law, (2) support emails (for example, responses to your user support requests), or (3) Account-related emails (for example, password-reset emails and the one-time email we send you when you first sign up for the Site and Services).
Account Termination: When a user's Account is deactivated or otherwise terminated, we remove all Personally-Identifiable Information about that user from our database. Please be aware that we are unable to delete specific information from our database backups; therefore, in the event a user's Personally-Identifiable Information is contained in backups of our database, such information cannot be removed following Account deactivation. We may indefinitely retain and continue to use non- Personally-Identifiable Information associated with an Account, such as Member Content and other information posted from that Account to the Site or Services. This means that Member Content you post will remain on the Site and Services in anonymized form, even if you deactivate your Account, so that your contributions to The Hunt can continue helping other users (but they will no longer be associated with your name, username, email address, or other information that could directly identify you).
"Do Not Track": Some browsers incorporate a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that, when activated, signals to websites and online services that you do not want to be tracked. However, there is not yet an accepted standard for how to respond to browser DNT signals, and we do not currently respond to them.
We may share information, including Personally-Identifiable Information, Automatically-Collected Information, and/or Location Information, with others in certain circumstances or for certain purposes, as listed below:
Other Information: In addition to the information-sharing practices described above, we may share other information, such as anonymous usage data, platform types, number of clicks, etc., with interested third parties, including Analytics Providers and Advertising Providers, to help them understand our users' usage patterns on the Site and Services and to provide the Site and Services to you. Such third parties may collect information about your online activities over time and across different Web sites when you use our Site or Services.
TheHunt cares about the integrity and security of our users’ information, and we take reasonable measures to protect that information. We cannot, however, guarantee the integrity or security of your information or that it will not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards. In the event we learn that Members' Personally-Identifiable Information has been compromised as a result of a breach of security, we will attempt to notify affected Members as required by applicable law.
Please be aware that your privacy settings on the Site and Services may be affected by changes to the functionality of TheHunt's partners, distributors, and other third-party services, such as social networks (e.g., Facebook). TheHunt is not responsible for the functionality or security measures of any third party.
Our Service is not directed to or intended for children under 13. Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important to us, so TheHunt does not knowingly collect or solicit information, including personal information, from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow children under 13 to register as Members. If you are under 13, do not use the Site or Services, and do not send any information about yourself to us. In the event we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will make efforts to delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information, including personal information, from or about a child under 13, please contact us at contact@TheHunt.com .
